The Treatment
To ensure the continued wellbeing of Clients all treatments begin with a consultation.
This will involve gaining consent and asking questions about medical history, lifestyle, sports/leisure/hobbies, emotional/spiritual wellbeing and home/work factors.
With this in place it enables us together to agree a tailored treatment plan addressing any specific worries or concerns and an individual confidential Client record will be kept securely with relevant notes for future treatments.
The first appointment is 75 minutes and subsequent treatments are 60 minutes. All subsequent treatments include review of last treatment and further feedback.
As it’s just the feet that are being worked on, you remain fully clothed; simply removing shoes and socks. You’ll be invited to relax on a reclining chair. Your feet will be cleansed at the start of the treatment and checked for any contraindications that might prevent the treatment going ahead e.g. athletes foot, fungal nail infections, verrucas.
A water based cream is used and during the treatment most Clients experience a deep sense of relaxation.
Some areas of the feet may be more sensitive than others and the treatment will always be adapted to suit.
At the end of the treatment there will be some time for you to relax and to chat about findings, recommendations and aftercare.
Aftercare guidelines:
After receiving your Reflexology treatment the following should be taken into consideration to gain full benefits:
Try to rest for at least 20 minutes after your treatment
Avoid doing anything too strenuous immediately after your treatment
You may feel thirstier than usual, this is normal and ensure you drink plenty of water this will help rehydrate you and will help clear toxins from your system
You may feel tired after your treatment and find that you sleep better. This is normal as your body is more relaxed and tensions have been released
Some Clients experience headaches after treatment, this is normal as your body releases waste products, make sure you drink plenty of water. If headaches persist contact your GP
Some Clients experience light-headedness – this is due to the release of tension and increased blood flow to the brain
In general, try to keep to a well-balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables and avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours after treatment.
